WITH AND WITHIN A BASIN

Event description
- Arts and entertainment
- Open to the public
“WITH AND WITHIN A BASIN” is a solo MFA exhibition by Rebecca Pipkin.
This site-responsive body of work encompasses sculptures, textiles, and drawings generated through time spent at a basin in South Mountain Park and Preserve in Phoenix. Informed by local ecology and post-human approaches to place, this exhibition explores how we attune to and learn from places often overlooked. Each piece finds its essence through a posture of being-with and making-with. Forms, colors and ideas emerge through mutual involvement between site and artist while indexing a unique intermingling of beings.
Opening Reception: Friday, Feb. 3, 6 to 9 p.m.
