To commemorate Black Speculative Fiction Month, join us at ASU’s Marston Theater for a special screening of The B.A.T.U. Project: ADAM THE FIRST, Ghana’s first feature-length science fiction film.

Recently honored with three awards at the Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival—including Best Afrofuturism Film and the festival’s top honor, the BEACON Award—this groundbreaking film explores humanity’s survival through the story of Adam, an envoy from the United African Federation sent to repopulate a new planet after Earth’s devastation.

After the film, stay for a special conversation with Afrofuturist scholar and strategist Ingrid LaFleur and Professor Timiebi Aganaba, assistant professor of Space and Society at Arizona State University.

Part of ASU’s celebration of Black Speculative Fiction Month, presented by the Center for Science and the Imagination, Humanities Institute, and FuturesWorks.
