'Becoming Interplanetary' film premiere

Event description

  • Arts and entertainment

"Becoming Interplanetary" is a journey into one of humanity’s oldest impulses: the desire to explore. It reflects on how curiosity, creativity, and the simple question “why?” have carried us from caves to spacecraft and now toward other worlds.

The world premiere will be held in Australia, and you're invited to livestream it on Arizona on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8:45 p.m.

Directed by Elena Rocchi of The Design School and featuring innovative voices like ASU President Michael Crow and Herberger Institute Bruce Mau and Lance Gharavi, this cinematic essay blends space science, storytelling, music, design and the arts to reimagine the future of exploration. Through stories and reflections from astronauts, artists, scientists, and dreamers, the film weaves together memory and imagination. It explores not only how we reach for the stars, but also why.
