Becoming-with

Event description

  • Arts and entertainment
  • Open to the public

"Becoming-with" is a group exhibition that speaks to a common understanding between the artists and their entanglement with each other and the space. The act-of collaboration resists individuality and generates nonlinear ways of making. The artists participating in the exhibition are Masters of Fine Arts students Camila de Andrade Bianchi, Arianna Barley, Wabwila Mugala and Liza Stout.

This exhibition considers the negotiations between positionality, site specific materials and different art mediums. Through the act of assemblage, the artist's thread together fabrics dyed with their organic food waste to emphasize collaboration and its potential to foster generative transformation.

As a small-scale modeling of material ways of dialogue, the installation exhibits the process through which the artists challenge limitations of space and language to arrive at a common-ground of shared meanings.
