Is person-to-person dialogue the answer to conflict? Build peace in your community one conversation at a time.
Join Bike for Peace Founder Tore Naerland for an exclusive conversation about peace building in your community and how we reach a world free of nuclear weapons. Tore, who is legally blind and rides a tandem bike with colleagues, is embarking on a 57-day global cycling and speaking tour.
During their worldwide expedition, he is offering a free lecture and discussion for the ASU and Tempe communities on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Naerland will discuss friendship and dialogue between Russia, Europe, the United States and the Middle East. He will share his vision of a world free of nuclear weapons by 2045.
Naerland has led more than 250 peace campaigns in 110 countries. He pioneered tandem cycling for the visually impaired in Norway. He has received the following honors: the Sean MacBride Peace Prize, the Gandhi Foundation International Peace Award, the King of Norway's Medal of Merit, and the Kazakhstan Dostyk Order.
