CAI Engaging Citizenship Luncheon — 'Unelected: How 'Democracy' Became a Word for NGO Power'

Jennica Pounds is a data analyst and the founder of DataRepublican, an open-source platform for tracing federal grants, contracts, and nonprofit funding flows. Writing as @DataRepublican, she has built one of the most widely followed independent efforts to make government and NGO money traceable to the public. Her book, "Unelected" (Passage Press, October 2026), examines how the language of "democracy" is redefined by unelected institutional power.
