Meet the Speakers

Lori Collins

Lori Collins is owner and principal of Collins Climate Consulting, a strategic advisory that helps businesses accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. She consults with energy companies, financial services providers, non-profits, and governments. In the past few years, she has co-authored four peer-reviewed papers on financing for climate solutions,  all announced at global UN Conference of the Parties (COP) meetings. She is lead author of a new paper announced at COP28 published by the Global Adaptation and Resilience Investment (GARI) group in collaboration with MSCI Sustainability Institute and The Lightsmith group. The paper is sponsored by the Bezos Earth Fund and ClimateWorks and will be released at the Financial Times Climate Capital Live event in London on March 13, 2024.

Prior to forming her consultancy, Lori served as executive director of Joules Accelerator, a clean energy startup incubator; president of Abundant Power, an energy financing venture;  founding executive at LendingTree; and executive roles at Bank of America, Fidelity Investments and American Express. 

Lori holds a Master of Science in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh; MBA from Kellogg; and business degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. In 2022 she was appointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Environmental Financial Advisory Board for a three-year term.

Edward Chu, Special Advisor to the President on Environment and Climate Solutions, will share his experience in environmental policy decision making from his work at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Mr. Chu will discuss the critical role of environmental policy in addressing environmental outcomes; the complexity of public policy decision making; and identify knowledge gaps, opportunities and challenges faced by decision makers
