Join ASU Library's Unit for Data Science and Analytics for an exciting event where students will share their experience and findings on four real-world data science and analytical projects in 10-15 minute presentations. The presentations will be on:
- RetinoVision: Pioneering Retinopathy Detection with AI. This project aims to explore deep learning methods in healthcare, specifically detecting diabetic retinopathy.
- ConsumerVoice: Complaint Analysis with NLP and AI. This project focuses on developing an advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) pipeline leveraging the Consumer Complaint Database to automate and enhance the analysis of consumer financial complaints.
- GlobalEchos: Analyzing Climate, Security, and Gender in UN Debates with NLP Techniques and AI. This project will undertake a comprehensive analysis of how climate change, security, and gender issues have evolved in the international arena, using the United Nations General Debate (UNDG) corpus and leveraging advanced NLP techniques including Transformer-based AI models.
- School Funding in the Spotlight: Data Science for Educational Equity. This project will delve into the hidden dynamics of K-12 school funding in the United States and critically assess if and how the allocated funding supports schools in serving students of all backgrounds.
