'Dear...' Correspondence as a Way of Knowing

Event description

  • Academic events
  • Free
  • Open to the public

Inspired by Virginia Evans's epistolary novel “The Correspondent,” this public workshop is an invitation to gather around the simple, intimate practice of writing a letter. Together, we'll explore why we write letters, whom we write to, and what a letter allows us to say, remember or discover. There will be gentle prompts, conversation and quiet time to write your own personal letter in the company of others. Paper, pens and space to begin will be provided. Light refreshments will be served.

About the initiative

The Applied Theory initiative explores how theory takes shape through lived experience, creative practice, public conversation and collective forms of inquiry.
