The growing population of multiracial persons and families and the expanding field of critical multiracial studies demands the inclusion and critical analysis of multiraciality in social science research. This series talk will (1) provide a brief overview of important terminology necessary for doctoral students interested in conducting anti-racist research that is attuned to multiracial individuals and families, (2) offer specific examples of harmful mono/racist narratives of multiraciality in existing research and theory, and (3) describe research methods with multiracial individuals and families that help mitigate mono/racism across the various phases of a research project.
