Easy To Let The Devil In, an MFA thesis exhibition by Bradley Smith, offers Free Tickets to the most Insane and Perfect Cinema Experience of the Season! With showtimes every 30 minutes, come for the Immersive Wonder and Complimentary Popcorn you know and love, and leave with Sharp Insights and New Selfies to start the New Year in style! Using site specific multimedia installation to conjure a microcinema inside of the gallery, this exhibition explores how the moving image itself is a monster wielding sensory seduction, language, social conditioning, and neuroscience for profit, power and control. Audiovisual communication can be understood as an evolving weapon with inherent power dynamics that may in fact be incompatible with reciprocity. The red, green and blue pixels that stand between us are modeled after how the human visual system perceives color. How might we re-examine these frames of looking and meditate on the constructed nature of our audiovisual experience, in front of the screen as well as beyond it?
