The Endstar Game Maker Spark Challenge invites Arizona State University faculty and students to collaborate in teams, design innovative games using the cutting-edge Endstar platform and win prizes! 

Choose between two challenge tracks and explore the power of game-based learning while fostering creativity, teamwork, and hands-on experience in game design.

Launchpad Track (No Code)

In this no-code track, teams will work together to design and build a complete and playable game levels using Endstar’s dynamic 3D world builderEndstar makes it easy for beginners, to bring your game ideas to life. Work in teams and bring together storytelling, craft, and project management to create an immersive experience. Teams will have 24 hours to complete deliverables before a live pitch competition. 

Eligibility: ASU students, faculty and staff with no background in CS or game design. Minimum of 2 people per team required. Sign up with a team or request to be paired with others upon registration. 

Capstone Track (Advanced)

In this advanced track, use Endstar's scripting and modeling tools to bring pitched game ideas to life while integrating AI tools to enhance game creation, streamline workflows, or deliver a truly immersive experience. Teams will have 72 hours to complete deliverables before a live pitch competition. 

Eligibility: ASU students, faculty and staff from all disciplines. Minimum of 2 people per team required. Sign up with a team or request to be paired with others upon registration.

Awards are distributed across teams and awarded to your Student Account.

Join the live kickoff featuring demos, teaming activities, track-specific workshops and additional engaging experiences at the MIX Center!

Saturday, Feb. 22, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Participating hackers can enjoy mentorship with industry and academic experts to upskill their teams in game design, AI and pitching, while exploring exclusive interactive art and experiential activities at the MIX Center!

Sunday, Feb. 23, 4:00 p.m 

Playtest all Launchpad games, score your favorites, and help rank them ahead of the lightning-round pitch competition — live at the MIX Center and streamed globally on Twitch!

Monday, Feb. 24, 4:00 p.m

Playtest all Capstone games, share your scores, and support ranking them for their lightning-round pitch competition — also live at the MIX Center and streamed on Twitch.
