Flinn Foundation Translational Seed Grants Program (Opportunity Kick Off)

The Flinn Foundation Translational Seed Grants Program is a competitive funding opportunity designed to accelerate the commercialization of innovative health-related discoveries emerging from Arizona universities, research institutions, and health-care systems. The program provides awards of up to $100,000 over 18 months to research teams developing new products, technologies, diagnostics, therapeutics, or services that address significant clinical needs. The 2027 competition marks the beginning of a renewed five-year program with enhanced alignment to the Flinn Foundation Bioscience Entrepreneurship Program, placing greater emphasis on mentorship, entrepreneurial development, and commercialization readiness. Successful projects may also be considered for follow-on funding or direct admission into the Foundation's Bioscience Entrepreneurship Program. 

This faculty-focused kickoff session will provide an overview of the funding opportunity, eligibility requirements, timeline, and strategies for developing competitive proposals. Faculty who have previously received Flinn Translational Seed Grants will share their experiences working with the Foundation, navigating the application process, and leveraging the program to advance translational research toward commercialization and clinical impact. The session is intended to help prospective applicants better understand sponsor expectations and position their projects for success ahead of the September 11 application deadline.
