Event description
- Academic events
LOCATION CHANGE: Seminar will now be held in WCPH Auditorium 107
In this presentation Dr. Melissa Nelson will describe her vision for and experiences with transforming the field of conservation by including Indigenous, biocultural, and local strategies rooted in a relational model of people-nature resilience. The new conservation paradigm must be a reflection of not only the diversity of the biosphere, but the diversity of humanity, with a goal of planetary health for all. From theory to praxis, classroom to field, urban to rural, she will outline critical questions and opportunities for navigating the future of conservation through holistic, place-based educational innovations embedded in ASU’s design aspirations and the founding goals of a new school.
