The opening reception for an installation of historical photos, narrative, film, video, projections, interactive websites and audio that present the history of the Provincetown Players, credited with ushering in American modern theater. In only seven years, from 1915–1922, the Players presented 93 plays by 47 playwrights, including the first by Eugene O'Neill, Susan Glaspell, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and Djuna Barnes. This opening night will present staged readings of two of the Players' early plays. This installation coincides with the release of IAP faculty Jeff Kennedy's new volume by the same title.
