Event description

  • Inclusion

Join Latinx Oral History Lab co-directors Associate Professor Vanessa Fonseca-Chávez and Assistant Professor Rafael Martínez in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts to learn about this new lab space, available to students and faculty interested in pursuing oral history research and community-based storytelling initiatives and programming. Learn more about what the lab has been working on, including exciting projects focused on smells and belonging in Mesa, the history of Day of the Dead, and how communities narrate their sense of place across Arizona.

The Latinx Oral History Lab, nestled within the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) at ASU, stands as a beacon of cultural storytelling and academic excellence. In alignment with ASU's designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), its mission is to amplify Latinx voices from the East Valley and beyond, capturing the rich tapestry of experiences that form the core of our community's narrative.
