Join us virtually for keynote remarks on the state of the economy from our 2024 Klein Award recipient Stephen Stanley, chief U.S. economist at Santander U.S. Capital Markets LLC.

The Lawrence R. Klein Award for Blue Chip Forecast Accuracy is presented by the W. P. Carey School of Business for consistency and accuracy in economic forecasting. Those eligible for the award are analysts from organizations whose projections were recorded in the Blue Chip Economic Indicators newsletter in January of the four prior years. The forecasts included three key indicators; the smallest average percentage point error of the eligible participants determined the 2024 winner.

Mr. Stanley is a frequent guest on CNBC and Bloomberg TV, where he has provided on‐air commentary regarding the various economic indicators in U.S. financial markets. He has also been widely quoted in the print media such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, The Associated Press, and a variety of industry trade journals.

He has been with Santander U.S. Capital Markets and its predecessor firm, Pierpont Securities, since March 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Stanley was chief U.S. economist at RBS. Throughout his career, Mr. Stanley has focused on macroeconomic analysis, Fed watching, and federal budget and Treasury financing issues.
