Lunch on Wednesday

Event description

  • Campus life
  • Professional and career development
  • Sustainability

Take a break in your week and join us for Lunch on Wednesday, a casual conversation series for Rob Walton College of Global Futures undergraduate students. Over lunch, you’ll connect in a small group setting (20 students) with special guests from the CGF community — including alumni, faculty, and Global Futures Laboratory experts.

Each session is a chance to:

  • Share a meal and build community with fellow students
  • Engage in informal conversations with people doing meaningful work in sustainability and futures
  • Ask questions, exchange ideas, and talk about what’s on your mind

Sessions are lightly facilitated by CGF Student Engagement and Career Services, but the conversation is shaped by you and your peers.

This session:

We'll be joined by John Owsley (Branch Manager) and Alec Ryan (Division Vice President) from LandCare. Both John and Alec have advanced quickly within the company—John rising to Branch Manager in just two years, and Alec moving from Branch Manager to Division Vice President in five. They’ll share how LandCare invests in employee growth and development, the diverse career paths available in the green industry, and how sustainability plays a role in their work. Students will discover how LandCare supports young professionals in growing their skills, advancing their careers, and finding long-term success.

Space is limited! Seats are capped at 20 undergraduate students per lunch. RSVP is required, and once spots are filled, a waitlist will be started.
