Celebrate trees, community, and urban resilience at the Maryvale Pep Rally for Trees! Join neighbors and families for a festive afternoon highlighting the value of tree canopy and shade in our neighborhoods. The event features live performances from Bad Cactus Brass Band, Maryvale High School Spiritline cheerleaders, Maryvale theatre students and other local acts. 

The Pep Rally program begins at 3:30 p.m.; arrive at 3:00 p.m. to enjoy the Maryvale Mercado and family activities


Organized in partnership with the City of Phoenix Department of Heat Response and Mitigation and Councilmember Betty Guardado and working with Camelback Community Association and Andalusia Neighborhood. The project is led by public artist Amanda Lovelee as part of ASU’s Homecoming for the Planet series and supported by a grant from Create the Change at Arizona State University.

This family-friendly celebration includes music, performances, community outreach about shade and urban heat resilience and opportunities to learn about local tree-planting and cooling initiatives. All ages welcome.
