A Mile Through My Eyes

Event description

  • Arts and entertainment

Gallery 100 is pleased to present A Mile Through My Eyes, a collaborative multi-sensory BFA exhibition by a group of artists who create work in response to personal experiences and perspectives on the body, identity, and social justice. . These artists employ a range of mediums and approaches to artmaking ranging from traditional forms such as drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and textiles to hybrid genres like installation, performance, and video. This exhibition stages each artist’s work in conversation with one another, together addressing concerns and themes such as emotion, gender and sexuality, mental health, and trauma. Through sharing their individual experiences and ideas, these eight artists—Jorge Hernandez Chacon, Liliana Flores, Dani Lynette Lewis, Stephen Powers, Chiara Rose Skabelund, Erika Valdez, Claire Julia Walgren, and Vala Zupko—envision a world in which we can relate to one another through human experience.

Exhibition Dates: April 22–26
Opening Reception: Tuesday, April 23, 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.
