Integrated Deterrence Series

Lieutenant General (Ret) H. R. McMaster, the 25th United States National Security Advisor and ASU Distinguished University Fellow

A discussion about the numerous means of deterrence that the United States employs to protect its national security.  As threats to national security become increasingly complex and varied, so too do the ways in which they can be deterred. General McMaster will explore the past, present and future of “integrated deterrence,” which reaches beyond military deterrence to include other fields of human endeavor.

Moderators: 

Ambassador David J. Scheffer, ASU Professor of Practice, American Lawyer and Diplomat who served as the first U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues, and recent recipient of ABA's prestigious Eleanor Roosevelt Prize for Global Human Rights Advancement.

Lieutenant General (Ret) Benjamin C. Freakley, ASU Professor of Practice, Special Advisor to President Crow for Leadership Initiatives, and Co-founder of the ASU Leadership, Diplomacy and National Security Lab.
