Project Lounge: Lessons from the Unexpected
Event description
- Professional and career development
The ASU Project Management Network is excited to announce our third event in our Virtual Networking Series! In response to the community, this series is designed to offer low-lift, high-impact opportunities for staff and faculty to build connections across campuses, disciplines, and experience levels. No project management credential or experience required. If you lead projects, support them, or find yourself doing “project management things,” you belong here.
In this session, “Lessons from the Unexpected,” we’ll explore how surprises, setbacks, and even failures can become powerful learning moments in project work. We'll kick off with a spotlight speaker - Katy Campanini - who will share a story of navigating the unplanned, followed by an open conversation about how we manage risk, adapt under pressure, and grow through uncertainty. Afterward, participants will join relaxed 'connection sprints' to swap stories, spark new ideas, and meet others navigating similar challenges.
Networking Topics:
- What’s one unexpected thing you’ve learned while working on a project?
- How do you usually handle it when something doesn’t go according to plan?
- Do you have a go-to way to regroup or refocus when things feel messy or unclear?
