About the play
Samuel Beckett’s groundbreaking play is as fresh today as when it debuted in 1961. Stranded in a mysterious landscape, the ineffable Winnie and her taciturn husband, Willie, navigate a progressively more unrecognizable world. Anchored by Monica Horan’s tour-de-force performance as Winnie, this production brings to vivid life the humor, despair, and unexpected grace of Beckett’s transcendent work.
The performances are made possible by generous support from the Consulate General of Ireland, Los Angeles, the ASU Humanities Institute, and the Arizona Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library.
