Celebrate Japanese cinema at the ASU MIX Center this September. The Japanese Film Festival Arizona runs Sept. 12-13 with a selection of new and classic Japanese film features and shorts, while The Sidney Poitier New American Film School presents a monthlong series celebrating legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, Thursdays at 6 p.m. Films include:

Sept. 4: "High and Low." RSVP here

Screenings are free and open to the public, and each one will be followed by a discussion led by professor and JFFA director of programming Reina Higashitani.
