Join journalists from NBC News, Texas Public Radio and the Investigative Project on Race and Equity as they discuss their standout work that earned them the Shaufler Prize for 2025.

The Shaufler Prize is administered by the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and recognizes America’s best journalism advancing the understanding of stories and issues related to underserved people in society, such as communities of color, immigrants, LGBTQ+ and those with disabilities.

Ed Shaufler, who died in 2020, cared deeply about promoting understanding of underrepresented people. Paul B. Anderson, principal and CEO of Workhouse Media, established the prize with the Cronkite School to honor his late friend and will offer remarks.
