Abstract:

In this GAME School special seminar, hear from industry veteran Kobi Abayomi, previously founding Senior Vice President of Data Science at Warner Music Group (WMG), where he led analytics globally across WMG, driving valuable business insights through which the company could measure and maximize success for its artists and songwriters. In this talk, he will talk about algorithms used in industry for music recommendation in streaming services. It turns out affinity for a song is predictable from its sound. We explore the statistical predictability of aggregate song demand from an informational representation.
