Infrastructure as a Service: the next strategic leap in space commerceWith Colonel Ariel Barredo [LinkedIn] Join recent graduates of the Thunderbird Executive Master in Global Management: Space Leadership as they discuss their thesis project that investigated innovative business models that will enable emerging space infrastructure. Their solution offers a novel business model for LEO infrastructure that will facilitate new space commerce opportunities. Government and industry are making substantial investments in commercial space stations and the supporting infrastructure required to drive the next era of orbital activity. A deep understanding of the business frameworks necessary for sustainable economic success is increasingly vital as these projects ramp up. Executive Master’s students in the Thunderbird Space Leadership program have undertaken an ambitious initiative: developing a comprehensive business model that addresses surging global demand, unique value propositions, cost structures, pricing strategies, and customer archetypes for core infrastructure supporting these mixed-use hubs of activity serving military, commercial, and civil organizations worldwide. The students will describe new opportunities created by advanced infrastructure, along with avenues for cultivating expertise in the evolving landscape of in-space supply chain and logistics management. Hear from distinguished alumni and faculty involved in this innovative degree as they tackle the following topics through our Fall 2025 Webinar Series:
