Yellowdig: Start Strong — Setup, Canvas Integration, and the Points Model

Be ready to set up your Yellowdig community the right way. In this session, we'll walk you through a complete setup from a ready-made template: connecting it correctly to a Canvas course so grades pass back reliably, and how Yellowdig's participation model actually awards points, which is different from the "post once, reply twice" pattern many of us bring from traditional discussion boards.

Understanding the points model up front matters for a practical reason: it's what you'll explain to your students in week one, and it's what determines whether your gradebook behaves the way you expect.

Watch the setup here, then apply it in your own course on your own time. Every participant receives a helpful resource afterward, so you don't need to take notes or keep up in real time.

• A pre-launch checklist to confirm grade passback is working before students arrive
