Youth Protection Program: Policy and guidelines overview

ASU launched the Youth Protection Program on Nov. 3, 2025. To support its rollout, the Youth Protection Program Office is hosting biweekly training sessions on various youth safety topics.
It is recommended that ASU Faculty and Staff who work with minors attend these training sessions.
This session will provide an overview of the program’s policy and guidelines. It will include a detailed look at the university’s Protection of Minors policy and supporting guidelines and procedures. Participants will gain a clear understanding of:
- Who the policy applies to
- Requirements for running youth activities
- Standards of conduct expected for those working with minors
This training will equip you with the knowledge and tools to run safe, compliant and effective youth activities.
Topics covered in this training session include:
- Purpose of the policy –– legal, regulatory and reputational drivers
- Policy requirements –– ASU youth activities and third-party activities
- Youth activity guidelines
- Procedures
- Compliance and oversight –– audits, review and approval
- Resources and support
