I present early insights from ongoing analyses of these data while considering how typical cohort models both enable and constrain what we can learn from them. I highlight key gaps in governance, interpretation, and use in health contexts, and discuss how these limitations shape the translation of genomic findings. Finally, I describe emerging community-based approaches, including Indigenous data infrastructures and evolving practices in genomic research and genetic counseling, that point toward new directions for the field.

Krystal Tsosie (Diné/Navajo Nation) is an Indigenous genetic epidemiologist and bioethicist at Arizona State University whose work is shaping how genomics is conducted with Indigenous communities. Her research focuses on large-scale genomic data, data governance, and health, and has contributed to Tribal-led approaches to data infrastructure and biobanking. Widely cited across scientific and public venues, she develops new models for how genomic data move from research into real-world health contexts.

https://asuevents.asu.edu/event/ceminar-krystal-tsosie-indigenous-genomics-cohort-models-insights-gaps-and-emerging?id=0
Zoom link","ticketing_rsvp_txt2":"
https://asu.zoom.us/j/81686937630","ticketing_rsvp_url2":
Center for Evolution and Medicine|School of Human Evolution and Social Change|School of Life Sciences
https://asuevents.asu.edu/event/ceminar-krystal-tsosie-indigenous-genomics-cohort-models-insights-gaps-and-emerging?id=0
