Truman and his advisors to tackle the historic decision of how and when to end the war with Japan. Student participants will choose which cabinet role they would like to explore in the simulation.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EStudents will gain skills in:\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EClose reading and information gathering.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EPrimary source analysis.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EComparing and contrasting multiple points of view.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESynthesizing complex information.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EGroup cooperation and communication.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESpeech writing and public speaking.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ECrafting evidence-based solutions for a complex problem.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETwo academies\u0026nbsp;will be held on Tuesday, July 21 from 9 a.m.to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the ASU Tempe campus.\u0026nbsp;Depending on availability, students will be assigned to one of the two sessions.\u0026nbsp;The fee to attend is $50, which is subsidized by funding from the Bradley Foundation, the Palo Verde Republican Women, and community donors to the ASU Center for American Institutions.
