For example, someone wasn\u2019t attentive enough and got ripped off, or people need to watch out for signs of fraud. A different approach is to consider scams from the perspective of the systems or structures that make everyone vulnerable to scams. In this talk, I describe a \u201cstructural\u201d account of why scams happen and explain why it leads us to a surprisingly different approach for managing scams. He is the author of \u0022Knowing Our Limits\u0022\u0026nbsp;(Oxford University Press 2019) and co-editor (with David Dunning) of\u0026nbsp;\u0022Reason, Bias, and Inquiry: The Crossroads of Epistemology and Psychology\u0022 (Oxford University Press 2022). Students prepare for the event by studying a set of cases and crafting their own arguments for their positions on each case, which they present in debate rounds at the bowl. The competition also requires that there is also a strong emphasis on acknowledgment and understanding of the opposing view.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe tournament will be held on ASU\u2019s Tempe Campus on Saturday April 3, 2027.
