In this talk, Prof. Li will present new AI methods that make flood mapping more accurate and transparent \u2014 combining different satellite data sources, reducing the manual work needed to train these systems, and ensuring the AI\u0027s reasoning matches real flood science. The goal: AI tools that emergency responders can actually trust.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAbout the Presenter\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/search.asu.edu\/profile\/1978357\u0022\u003EWenwen Li\u003C\/a\u003E is a Professor of Geospatial Data Science in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning at Arizona State University, where she directs the Spatial Analysis Research Center (SPARC). Her research focuses on cyberinfrastructure, big data, and geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI), with applications in data- and computation-intensive environmental and social sciences, such as environmental monitoring and Arctic change, disaster management, and clean water access for underserved communities. She is the recipient of the NSF CAREER Award (2015) and the NSF Mid-Career Advancement Award (2021).
