2018 Curt Schafer Memorial Lecture with Francis Kéré

Join us for The Design School at ASU's 2018 Curt Schafer Memorial Lecture at Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, featuring world-renowned architect Diébédo Francis Kéré.

About Francis Kéré:
Francis is the brilliant founder of Kéré Architecture and internationally recognized for revolutionary projects in his home village of Gando in Burkina Faso, as well as Mali, Germany and Switzerland. 

His inspirational story stems begins with being the first child in his village to go to school to now becoming a tenured professor at Harvard University. His approach to beautiful design is rooted in an environmentally sound, sustainable and socio-economical approach that serves the people who inhabit those spaces. 

Kéré continues to reinvest knowledge back into Burkina Faso with strategies that combine traditional building techniques and materials with modern engineering methods.
