The New Work Lab presents readings of works in progress by ASU students. 

"The Sixth Session"

After surviving another suicide attempt, Elvis, pushed by her mother, goes to therapy under one condition: this unusual therapist has only five sessions to make her want to live.

Content transparencyThe Sixth Session includes discussions and depictions of suicide, self-harm, violence, strong language, and sexual abuse. 

We are delighted to welcome pianist Gile Bae to Arizona State University. Ms. Bae will be teaching a masterclass to students in the ASU School of Music, Dance and Theatre Keyboard area. 

Gile will also perform a few solo selections in a special recital from 12 to 12:30 p.m., followed by the masterclass from 12:30 to 2 p.m. 

Both events are free and open to the public.

Pianist Tali Morgulis is a passionate performer and a dedicated pedagogue. Prize winner of several international competitions,  Morgulis continues to present critically acclaimed solo, chamber music and orchestral performances worldwide and champions living composers with regular commissions and performances of new pieces. She has premiered works by Marcus Maroney, Lei Liang and Finola Merivale and her concert repertoire also includes many lesser known gems of composers past and present.  Her most recent performances have championed works by women composers.

Los Llaneros brings the rhythmic music of the Colombian and Venezuelan plains to the stage, featuring harp, cuatro, maracas, vocals and more. Founded in 1978 and led by vocalist Karin Stein with roots in both Indigenous and Spanish traditions, their style features fast-paced rhythms and intricate techniques rarely heard outside the region. Los Llaneros delivers a performance that honors the beautiful culture, history and spirit of the Llanos.
