New York-based Harlem Quartet has been praised for its “panache” by The New York Times and hailed in the Cincinnati Enquirer for “bringing a new attitude to classical music, one that is fresh, bracing and intelligent.” Harlem Quartet advances diversity in classical music while engaging new audiences with varied repertoire that includes works by minority composers.

We end the year strong with a showcase of all the choirs of ASU.  This culminating performance features Barrett Symphonic Choir, Canticum Bassum, Choral Union, Concert Choir, Gospel Choir, Mill Ave Jazz, and Sol Singers.  

This program will include a performance of Durufle's Requiem performed by Concert Choir and Choral Union with organist Dr. Valerie Harris.

Watkins and Brett Taylor, the ASU Concert Choir and Choral Union will present a diverse program celebrating the joy and depth of choral literature. The ASU Philharmonia will collaborate once again with the Philharmonic Orchestra from the Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchestras (PYSO) in an inspiring side-by-side concert at Gammage.

Both ensembles, directed and conducted by Julie Desbordes, will join forces to co-create a meaningful evening of music making, and to celebrate our youths’ exceptional talents and voices. Repertoire to be announced.

Soundscapes in Motion brings together the ASU Symphony Orchestra and ASU Wind Ensemble for a program of sweeping drama, emotional depth and sonic exploration. The Wind Ensemble, joined by ASU faculty pianist Andrew Campbell, performs James David's driving Pulsing Onward and David Maslanka’s expansive Symphony No. 7. The Symphony Orchestra brings to life some of the most vivid and iconic scenes from Prokofiev’s and Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, capturing moments of tenderness, tension and triumph.

As our students prepare for a well-earned spring break, join us for a joyful concert showcasing their hard work this semester. We can’t wait to share the music we’ve been preparing for the Gammage stage!
