My V. T. Phan is an assistant professor in genomic epidemiology and bioinformatics of viruses. She uses next-generation sequencing and bioinformatics tools to focus on viral metagenomics, virus discovery and viral genomics for transmission and evolution. Phan was involved in large-scale genomic surveillance (VIZIONS, Wellcome Trust Strategic Award) to investigate viral zoonoses in Vietnam.
Meet Hua Wei, Assistant Professor in ASU’s School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence. His award-winning research in data mining and reinforcement learning is shaping the future of AI, with publications in the world’s top conferences and support from the NSF, DoE and DoT. Most recently, he earned the prestigious 2025 NSF CAREER Award and Amazon Research Award.
