In the tourist city of Cancún, Mexico, settler tactics promote a narrative of a city of immigrants. These tactics erase Maya migrants’ efforts to uphold Indigenous self-determination and the practice of convivencia. For Maya migrants, living well together in Cancún entails devising place-making strategies that help them forge a sense of belonging and cultivate reciprocal relations in urban spaces.

Transition by Joost Jordens and Mike Von Rotz is a virtual reality experience based on the music of Kettel & Secede. A metaphor for death, Transition takes visitors on a journey from one world into the next.
The Creative Writing Program in the Department of English at ASU presents a reading by two of its star graduates: poet Oliver de la Paz (MFA 1999) and fiction writer Allegra Hyde (MFA 2015). The event takes place on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 7 p.m. in Ross-Blakley Hall (RBHL), room 196 on ASU's Tempe campus.
