One of the most highly-anticipated games of the season will once again be Arizona State's trip to Tucson to take on Arizona. The second of the two meetings between the two Rivals will take place at McKale Center. This will be one of two road conference matchups against a Top-10 opponent for Arizona State. The Sun Devils are only a year removed from Desmond Cambridge Jr.'s iconic half-court shot to beat No. 6 Arizona on the road in 2023.
The only former Pac-12 team that Arizona State faces just once is Utah, as the Sun Devils only travel to Salt Lake City this year. Bobby Hurley looks to continue his recent run of success against the Utes, as ASU has won seven of the past nine matchups. That includes a regular season series sweep of Utah last year.
Up next is another one-game road trip. For the second time during the 2024-25 conference slate, the Sun Devils will take on Kansas State. This time they will travel to Manhattan for the first time since 1982.
Arizona State renews what was previously a common matchup with Texas Tech. The two programs have met 41 times previously, making them the most frequent opponent of all the original Big 12 schools that stayed in the conference. This is the first of two matchups with the Red Raiders, who make the return trip to Tempe for ASU's regular season finale. The Sun Devils lead the all-time series 22-19 and are currently on a five-game win streak over Texas Tech, including sweeping a home-and-home series back in 2012-13.
For the first time since 1997, Arizona State will matchup with Oklahoma State. The two programs played each year from 1993-97, including neutral site meetings in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. This will be ASU's first trip to Stillwater since 1995 and their only game against the Cowboys this season.
For the first time in 2024-25, Arizona State will face an opponent for a second time and will go on a one-game road trip. The Sun Devils make the return trip to Boulder to take on Colorado. Bobby Hurley has won two of his past three games on the road against the Buffaloes.
Part two of the trip back East has Arizona State traveling to West Virginia. Much like the UCF game, this will be the first meeting between the two programs. This is also the only meeting of the season between the two teams.
The longest road trip of the conference slate starts with a trip to preseason Top-25 member Cincinnati. It is the first meeting between the Sun Devils and Bearcats since 1997 and their only meeting in 2024-25. Arizona State holds a 2-1 advantage in the series, claiming the past two matchups. That includes an 87-79 road win at Fifth Third Arena at Shoemaker Center in 1997.
For the first time since their epic upset of No. 2 Kansas back in 2017, Arizona State returns to iconic Allen Fieldhouse to face Kansas. This is the lone meeting between the two teams this year. Kansas is the consensus preseason No. 1 team in the nation and considered a premier national title contender. The Sun Devils have won each of the past two meetings in the series, including the thrilling 95-85 road win in 2017.
Arizona State will begin the Big 12 era with a matchup at BYU. This will be the second straight year the two programs have met. The last time the Sun Devils traveled to Provo was back during the 2009 season. This is the first of two games with the Cougars, who come to Tempe later in February.
