The inner-city school has a student population with very low parental college experience. Thus, higher education may not even be considered for attendees. In order to think about the possibility, classes are nicknamed after colleges and universities. The Utah chapter works with the fifth-grade class identified as Sun Devils. The three-part program includes an introduction to Journalism class (March), which culminates with the students interviewing each other and writing stories about their college expectations.

Join the ASU Houston Alumni Chapter at the 31st annual River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash® on March 29! Trash Bash® is the largest, single-day waterway cleanup in Texas, and thanks to more than 117,000 volunteers, over 2,400 tons of trash, 22.5 tons of recycling, and 11,965 tires have been removed from the watershed since Trash Bash® started.
