Salute to Service: Panel Discussion, Congressional Commendation at ASU Polytechnic Campus

Hear from national and community leaders, ASU faculty and members of the community who have served on many fronts.

Panel moderator will be Bob Beard, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who is a member of the ASU community at ASU's Center for Science and the Imagination. Participants include:

  • Service through community: Yolanda Rodriguez, PhD,  U.S. Marine Corps veteran, ASU instructor
  • Service through academia: Kermit Brown, PhD, ASU lecturer, U.S. Marine Corps Gulf War veteran
  • Service through elected office: Bill Spence, U.S. Navy veteran, Town of Gilbert city councilman 
  • Service through diplomacy: Ambassador Michael Polt, Ambassador in Residence at ASU
  • Service through the military: Lt. Gen. Ben Freakley, U.S. Army (Ret.), ASU professor and policy advisor
  • Service through the Peace Corps: Genevieve de los Santos Evanhouse, Peace Corps 2006-2016, John F. Kennedy Service Award recipient 2021
