Part of ASU’s annual Salute to Service events, the ASU Book Group's November 2025 reading selection is “Roadside: My Journey to Iraq and the Long Road Home” by screenwriter and director Dylan Park-Pettiford, an ASU graduate (BA film and media studies ’11).
The book group is open to all in the ASU community and meets monthly this fall from noon to 1 p.m.
Just in time to celebrate Jane Austen’s 250th birthday, the ASU Book Group's October 2025 reading selection is “Wild for Austen: A Rebellious, Subversive, and Untamed Jane” by Austen expert Devoney Looser, a Regents Professor of English at ASU.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, the ASU Book Group's September 2025 reading selection is “Every Sound Is Not a Wolf” by Alberto Ríos, Regents Professor of English and director of the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at ASU.

Are you interested in an archivist position at the ASU Library?
ASU Library is recruiting two archivists within the Community-Driven Archives Initiative. Early career professionals are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is Sept. 3, 2025.
Archives are essential cultural infrastructure. From oral stories to hand inscribed annotations in books, from letters sent around the world to recipes kept at home, from clothing worn as part of a community to pamphlets for community advocacy, archives hold our collective memories. The changing federal priorities have shifted how we think of these resources. To help us understand why archives matter, this panel will discuss:
- How archives are accessed and used to advance research
- How archives are used differently by different humanities disciplines
You're invited to visit the "In Phases" exhibit by artist Capri Landi at the Downtown Phoenix campus Library. On display from May 25 until August 7, this exhibit is open during regular library hours. Join ASU Library's Unit for Data Science and Analytics for an exciting event where students will share their experience and findings on real-world data science and analytical projects in 10-15 minute presentations. The presentations will be on:
April is Poetry Month! To celebrate, we'll be creating our own blackout poetry. Blackout poetry is a mixture of poetry and art made by taking any form of printed text and blacking out the unwanted words to create a poem or statement.
We'll have everything you need, including withdrawn books as the raw material for your poetry, but feel free to bring your own materials.
We'll be located on the first floor of Hayden Library in the area by the south entrance.
