African-American Read-In

African American Read-in 2017

The African-American Read-In invites you to read aloud an excerpt from your favorite black writer, or come and listen to pieces by some of America's greatest writers and orators.

Sponsored by the National Council of the Teachers of English and hosted locally by Writing Programs in the Department of English at Arizona State University, this event celebrates the contributions of African-American authors and the history of black literacy.

You can learn more about the read-in on the NCTE website.

The event is open to all.
