'Darkened Roots': Jonathan R. Wright

"Darkened Roots," the MFA thesis exhibition of Jonathan R. Wright, brings a traditional, Southern comfort to the Southwest through laser engraving and printmaking imagery with its depiction of rural, Arkansas charm. Printing black-on-black not only brings awareness to vanishing memories but also the plight of the African-American community at large.
