The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lack

Screening of the film 'The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks' based upon the true story of the discovery of the essential research tool – the first immortal cell line, HeLa – through an ethical violation of cancer patient Henrietta Lacks. The titular role is play by Hamilton's Renee Elise Goldsberry with her daughter seeking justice played by Oprah Winfrey. Based upon the book by Rebecca Skloot. There will be a brief introduction to the film and the screening will be following by open participant discussion.
