Earthborn

Gallery 100 presents “Earthborn,” a drawing and painting BFA exhibition that explores connections between humankind and the natural world. Sheri Ashton, Marie Buettner, Dao Countess, Alyssa Stewart, Kendra Tamura and Sharri Ward engage with the spirit and emotional potency of the natural world in their artworks. Each artist’s collection of work blurs and cross-pollinates existential questions about humanity and other life on earth. Traditionally human expressions of identity, vulnerability and belonging permeate landscape and animal subjects. Meanwhile, wildlife converges and reunites with human figures, amplifying expressions of psyche and personhood. The exhibition explores a range of expression, from dreamlike abstraction to dramatized realism, pensive intimacy to climactic intensity. Wander amidst the modern sublime in “Earthborn.”
