GIS Data and Software: Breaking the Ice

This event last occurred March 26, 2019

Bring your lunch and learn about GIS!

Gain hands-on experience working with different types of geospatial datasets using two popular geographic information system (GIS) software platforms: ArcGIS Pro (licensed) and QGIS (open-source). Emphasis will be placed on foundational topics, such as data import, basic geoprocessing operations and map production/geovisualization.

Presented by Matt Toro, Director of the Map and Geospatial Hub at ASU Library, this workshop is an offering of ASU Library’s Graduate Scholars’ Toolkit, a new lunchtime workshop series for ASU graduate students to enhance their scholarly activities and help them succeed in their graduate studies.

We want to hear from you! Take the survey. Tell us what topics and tools you want to learn more about.

Register for this workshop through the Research Academy (optional).
