The Office of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is launching the first annual Herberger Institute Student IDEA Showcase (Innovation in Design, Entertainment and Arts), initiated as a forum for students to showcase their most creative and innovative ideas. Each student will have two minutes – just 120 seconds – to share their story of creativity and innovation.

This event will feature 20 current Herberger Institute students pitching to a panel of community leaders, including Lawdan Shojaee, CEO of Axosoft; Robert Booker, executive director of Arizona Commission on the Arts; Sara Cochran, director and chief curator of the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, and Jessica Rajko, ASU assistant professor of dance and founding member of urbanSTEW. Over 40 students across Herberger Institute applied to be a part of the Showcase, resulting in a diverse array of disciplines and creative thinking.  Each of the Herberger Institute’s five schools will be represented at the event. There will also be pitches from the four members of the 2015-16 Pave Arts Venture Incubator cohort

The winner of the judges’ prize will be awarded $500. The audience also gets a vote, with the audience choice receiving a $250 prize.

Join us for this exciting evening of music, networking and the lightning-fast sharing of Herberger Institute students’ ideas!
