Immersive Entertainment: How the Future Wants to Tell Stories By Steve Peters

Fall 2017 Speaker Series- Steve Peters

Abstract:

How new technologies and platforms such as VR/AR, theme parks, 4D movies, Immersive Theatre and Alternate Reality Games can be effectively used to draw you deeper into a story…or distract you right out of it. Steve Peters has done it all: from scavenger hunts at Comic Con to online treasure hunts, from digital ghost stories to hijacking your very mobile device - all for the sake of telling a good story. He’ll share stories and examples of best practices, worst practices, and - most offensive of all - indifferent practices, in his never-ending quest to make his audiences feel like spies, superheroes and inadvertent henchmen.
