Leadership Voices: A Conversation about Leadership, Career Paths, Counterterrorism and National Security

The Leadership Voices series, a partnership between the McCain Institute for International Leadership and New America, features today’s icons and trailblazers from across business, politics, sports and technology to share their journeys from their first internships to their current posts and from being on the sidelines of decisions to being the ones making the final call. Focused on actionable tips and advice for young, ambitious changemakers, Leadership Voices highlights how the people we look up to got to where they are – and how you can get there, too.

This installment of Leadership Voices will feature a conversation between Nicholas Rasmussen, the McCain Institute’s counterterrorism and terrorism expert, and Christy Abizaid, Middle East expert and former deputy assistant secretary of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia. They will discuss their early careers and who and what have shaped their professional trajectories. Questions from the audience will be a key component of the discussion.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the reception. The discussion portion starts at 6 and will be immediately followed by a networking mixer at 7.
